The US’s “Obligation” to Stabilize Capital Markets – China Ministry of Finance

I was laughing out loud this afternoon while reading this quote from the Chinese ministry of Finance.

The US decision (QE2) “Does not recognize, as a country that issues one of the world’s major reserve currencies, its obligation to stabilize capital markets.”
-Zhu Guangyao,
Chinese Vice Finance Minister

My friend Nick decided to simplify the statement:

“Please don’t let the value of your currency fall because we have too much of it…oh, and we pegged our currency to it. So you’re going to make us look like shit.”
-Nick

I’m not sure which quote is more hilarious.
